Maternity Care Close to Home

No matter where you plan to deliver your baby, Piedmont Medical Center provides a personal touch with their informational classes and small groups of like-minded women to connect with. See class details below and how you can begin preparing for your little one's arrival!

Breastfeeding Class | Third Monday of the month at 7PM

Learn the basics of breastfeeding such as health benefits to both mom and baby, prenatal prep, managing challenges and helpful hints for success. Partners are encouraged to attend.

Breastfeeding Support Group | Every Tuesday at 10AM

International Board Certified Lactation Consultants offer support and discuss the challenges and benefits of breastfeeding. Breastfeeding mothers and their children are welcome.

Sibling Boot Camp | 3:30PM; Visit myPMCbaby.com for schedule.

Expectant brothers and sisters learn the importance of being the family’s “big kid,” how a new baby will behave and how they can help prepare, hold and care for their new sibling. Upon completion, participants receive a "Very Important Kid" certificate.

Family Infant Care Class | 1:30PM; Visit myPMCbaby.com for schedule.

Learn the basics of newborn care, including bathing, taking baby’s temperature, signs of illness and infant safety. Grandparents and caregivers are encouraged to attend this class.

Infant CPR | Second Sunday of the month at 3PM

Parents learn the basics of infant CPR and how to help a choking infant following criteria from the American Heart Association. Grandparents and caregivers are encouraged to attend this class.

Infant Massage | Series begins first Monday of the month at 5:30PM

A series of three, one-hour classes teach a massage routine, beginning with baby’s legs and tummy and concluding with head and back massage. Each class offers parents special, relaxing moments with their infant.

Young Parents-to-be | First Monday of the month at 7:30PM | Registration required

Small group conversations encompass all aspects of pregnancy, childbirth and infant care. This course is a series of four, 2-hour classes geared to parents-to-be ages 21 years and younger.
