A Memorial Day tradition centered around fitness, service, and honoring America’s fallen heroes is returning to The Print Shop on Monday, May 25, for its fourth year.

The annual Fort Murph Challenge invites everyone to come together for a morning of sweat and remembrance — all while supporting meaningful causes connected to veterans and military families.
Inspired by the nationwide Murph Challenge tradition, the event honors Lt. Michael P. Murphy, who lost his life serving in Afghanistan on June 28, 2005. Participants across the country complete the workout each Memorial Day weekend as a tribute to his sacrifice and the sacrifices of all fallen service members.
This year’s Fort Mill event is keeping the classic Murph workout while introducing a new HYROX-style version designed for participants who want the challenge without pull-ups. The goal is to make the event more accessible while still maintaining the grit and camaraderie the Murph Challenge is known for.
Whether participants are seasoned athletes, weekend warriors, or simply looking to support the mission, there's is a place for everyone!
In addition to the workouts, attendees can enjoy:
local vendors
breakfast sandwiches
a live DJ
a post-workout celebration
a “Mini Murph” for the kids!
Early registrants will receive commemorative event items while supplies last, including custom pint glasses and event T-shirts.
The morning will begin with a Presentation of Colors and prayer at 8:15 a.m., setting the tone for a day focused on remembrance and resilience. Proceeds from the event benefit the LT. Michael P. Murphy Memorial Scholarship Foundation and American Legion Post 43.
Registration is currently $45 per participant. Register here.
