11 farms outside of Fort Mill to discover this fall

Take advantage of the gorgeous fall weather to explore local farms outside of Fort Mill! These family farms are all unique in their own way and offer everything from pumpkin picking, corn mazes, hay rides, haunted rides, apple launching, pumpkin bowling, barn yard animal petting, and more!


So much for the family to enjoy at this farm! Take a walk through the corn maze, pallet maze and fence maze, hop on a hayride, go fishing, bowl with pumpkins, see a 1800's train car, and take a walk through the barn where you can pet and feed animals.


Location: 3718 Plyler Mill Rd. Monroe, NC 28112


Cost: $9-$11 for ages 3+

 

Family owned since 1923, Black's Peaches will be hosting a fall festival every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in October. The festival is designed for kids preschool-2nd grade and includes farm animals, a corn maze (shaped like a cat!), presentations on various crops, stories about farm animals, story time in The Three Little Pigs House, hay rides, and a farm playground. Grab some ice cream and fresh veggies while you're there and bring a lunch to enjoy on one of their picnic tables.

Located between York and Clover, Bush-N-Vine offers hiking trails, picnic tables, pick-your-own pumpkins (through Oct. 31, Mon-Sat), and a beehive observatory! The farm has been in the Hall family for 150+ years. It used to be a peach farm but now prides itself on growing all sorts of fruits and vegetables for the community.

Cost: Varies based on how much you pick/buy. Free for children under 2.

 

Carrigan Farms is well known for their swimming quarry, but their roots run deeper than that. It’s also a family farm of 100+ years that grows local fruits and vegetables. Apple picking season has concluded but you can still pick pumpkins through October. Make reservations now.

Cost: $12.00 for ages 2+.

 

"A small family farm with a whole lot of heart." Enjoy a two-acre corn maze, hayrides, feeding farm animals, a pumpkin patch, and popcorn.  


Location: 1922 Oakdale Road, Rock Hill, SC 29730


Cost: $8 for ages 2+; reservations not required.

 

Family owned since 1882, Cotton Hills Farm offers pumpkin picking in their 45-acre pumpkin field. Be sure to stop by their market to browse fall decor, mums, flowers, fruits, veggies, ice cream and more.


Location: 2575 Lowrys Hwy, Chester, SC 29706


Cost: No entry fee. Large pumpkins start at $.50 per pound. Reservations not required.

 

Enjoy playgrounds, puppet shows, a Barnyard Ball Zone, and pick-your-own pumpkins. They also have drive-in movie nights, apple cider, and mini State Fair doughnuts.


Location: 10390 Caldwell Road Mount Ulla, NC 28125


Cost: $10-$12; reservations required.

 

On 265 rolling acres, the historic site of the Colonial-era farm boasts old schoolhouses, ruins, a family graveyard, an extensive network of trails, and a pumpkin patch. They have over 250 years of history to share with you and are also home to the Amazing Maize Maze, one of the largest corn mazes in the Southeast, open until Nov. 1.

Cost: Adults/$6, Children/$4, and 4 and under are free; corn maze tickets are $12. Reservations and masks are required.

 

Fall fun includes an 8-acre corn maze, pumpkin patch and 40+ attractions (think rubber duck races, paintball, cow train, zip line, and apple launchers). They have tons of family entertainment, outdoor fun and plenty to eat. Plus, visit the Haunted Maze on weekends in October.

Enjoy pumpkin picking through Nov. 21 (no reservations required) and a hayride on the shuttle to the petting barn (reservations required). A ticket includes a trip down to the animal barn via tractor-pulled wagon to pet and feed the farm animals. As part of the experience, you will learn about the 50-acre farm including it's rich history and stewardship practices.

Cost: $10 for ages 2+. Reservations required for hayride to the barn.

 

Wise Acres is a family-owned u-pick certified organic strawberry and pumpkin farm. They’re family friendly with many fresh air activities to enjoy like pick-your-own, wagon rides through the woods, barrel train rides, outdoor play area, meet-n-greet with pigs, goats, chickens and rabbits, and more.

Reservations are required and include: 2 hours on the farm, a wagon ride through the woods, walkthrough the sun hemp maze, wooded fall scavenger hunt, time in the pumpkin patch playgrounds and visiting the animals, and pizza!


**NOTE: Weekends for October are fully booked. There may be brief openings when reservations are changed or cancelled but otherwise full. They are looking into adding another weekend in November.

  • Thursday: $7/adult & $6/child (2-12)

  • Friday-Sunday: $25 for two Pizzas PLUS $8/adult & $7/child (2-12). Additional costs include barrel train ride ($2), pumpkins, slushies, mums, etc.
