Crisp mornings, golden leaves, and plenty of tail wags - fall in York County is prime time for adventures with your pup. From scenic trails to dog-friendly breweries, these spots are perfect for you and your furry best friend to explore this season.


Fort Mill

This 2,100-acre nature preserve is fall at its finest. Dogs on leash are welcome across the Greenway’s trails, and the Mary Warner Mack Dog Park offers off-leash freedom, lakefront access, water stations, and even a dog-washing station. Note: Dog park access requires a Greenway membership and registration for your pup.



Fort Mill

A serene spot for fall strolls with your dog. Leashed pups can enjoy paved paths, grassy open areas, and benches to rest and take in the crisp weather. Plus, you're just steps from downtown Fort Mill if you want to grab a coffee or lunch nearby.


Rock Hill

The Piedmont Medical Center Trail is a paved winding trail that is part of the Carolina Thread Trail and runs alongside the Riverwalk Community and the Catawba River. It is 2.5 miles one way and leashed dogs, along with walkers, runners, and bikers, are welcome on this scenic trail.


While you're in Riverwalk, you can enjoy Grapevine's dog-friendly patio and swing by Dog Bites Munchery & More for dog toys, treats, accessories, supplements, and more!


Rock Hill

This vibrant self-pour taproom offers over 60 taps - beer, wine, cocktails, and mocktails. With lively vibes, outdoor cornhole, a delicious food truck, and pet-friendly seating, it’s an energetic fall evening hangout for you and your dog.


Fort Mill

Stroll charming neighborhood walkways with your pup, then relax in the pet-friendly outdoor seating areas at nearby spots like Cupcrazed Cakery, Grapevine, or the Jekyll & Hyde patio. Baxter is also home to a 9-mile trail network part of the Carolina Thread Trail - perfect for exploring and finding new routes!


Fort Mill

This family- and dog-friendly spot, created by the team behind Amor Artis Brewing, offers a spacious outdoor seating area with picnic tables and often hosts live music. It’s a great place to relax with a local brew and tacos from J’s Fish Tacos while your pup enjoys the fresh air.


Tega Cay

A welcoming brewery with a large dog-friendly outdoor patio - ideal for sipping seasonal brews and grabbing a bite while your pup lounges by your side. They offer water bowls and shaded spots to keep your furry friend comfortable.


Rock Hill

This scenic lakeside park offers walking trails, picnic areas, and a sandy beach where leashed pups are welcome. It’s an especially beautiful backdrop in the fall as the colors change around Lake Wylie.
