National Trails day is this Saturday, June 7, from 7 AM – Sunset, at Anne Springs Close Greenway!

Get ready to lace up your hiking boots, pump up your bike tires, or saddle up—National Trails Day® is almost here, and the Anne Springs Close Greenway is throwing a celebration you won’t want to miss!
In honor of National Trails Day® and the Greenway’s 30th anniversary, visitors can enjoy free admission all day on Saturday, June 7. Whether you’re a trail regular or brand new to the Greenway, this is the perfect chance to explore the great outdoors and be part of a community-wide challenge to log 1,200 miles in a single day—the equivalent of 30 laps around the Greenway’s scenic 40-mile trail system!
Here’s what’s happening throughout the day:
7 AM – Trails Open: Start your adventure early! Hike, bike, run, paddle, or ride horseback to help us reach our 1,200-mile goal. Every mile counts!
Popular trails include:
Haigler Loop (from the parking lot and back): 2 miles
Greenway Gateway to Steele Creek Swinging Bridge and back: 0.5 miles
Founders Dairy Barn to Steele Creek Swinging Bridge and back: 1.5 miles
Archer’s Loop: 1.7 miles
10 AM – Group Hike with the Greenway Hiking Club: Meet at the Greenway Gateway for a 4-mile group hike celebrating the Hiking Club’s 10th anniversary! Stick around for a casual porch celebration afterward.
10 AM – 2 PM – Wayfinder Stations: Stop by Wayfinder stations at Lake Haigler, Dairy Barn, Adventure Road, and the Farm & Stables entrances. Get trail tips, pick up a trail cleanup kit, and snap some selfies along the way!
6 – 9 PM – Evening Celebration at the Greenway Canteen: Cap off the day with live music, food, and drinks at the Canteen. The perfect way to toast to a day well spent.
Bonus: Track Your Miles and Win! Log your miles to be entered to win Greenway swag! Plus, each mile earns you $1 off an annual family membership, up to $12.
Know Before You Go: Admission is free for all visitors, but a $5 parking fee per car applies to non-members (and goes right back into conservation efforts!).
This special Open Access Day is part of the American Hiking Society’s National Trails Day®, a nationwide movement to celebrate and protect our local trail systems. So grab your friends, your kids, your pup—or just your sense of adventure—and come be a part of something big.
Let’s hit the trails and celebrate 30 years of the Greenway the best way we know how—outside! More Info & Event Details.
