Local businesses raise funds at the Foundation for Fort Mill School’s Clays for a Cause event

This is part of our Community series. Submit your story here.

On April 24, a number of local businesses sporting approximately 70 shooters joined the Foundation for Fort Mill Schools for their 2nd annual Clays for a Cause event held at Rocky Creek Sporting Clays. The event, aimed at raising funds for the Foundations Classroom Ready and Teacher Grants programs, brought in over $10,000 – more than doubling last year’s earnings.

Participants entered into groups of shooters to tackle the 12 hole clay course. Trophies were awarded, with hand-made wooden clays crafted by the talented students at Catawba Ridge High School, to first, second and third place teams. It was a great way for employees to enjoy time out of the office, connect with co-workers, and raise money for a great cause.

Local businesses also donated incredible raffle items, which participants eagerly bought tickets for. It was truly a community effort in making this event so successful and impactful for Fort Mill teachers and students.

The Foundation would like to thank the following businesses and people for entering teams to compete in the clay event:
