Looking for a unique way to spend your lunch break? This May 5th event in downtown Fort Mill brings local history to life!

Join historian Robert Ryals for a special Lunch & Learn: The Wartime Experiences of Rev. William Martin — a dramatic storytelling experience that dives into one man’s life during a pivotal moment in American history.
In 1772, Rev. William Martin came to the South Carolina backcountry in search of religious freedom and a fresh start. But as tensions escalated during the American Revolutionary War, his life took a dramatic turn.
Just eight years later, Martin lost everything after committing what British authorities considered a seditious act—a bold stand against the Crown that came with serious consequences.
This immersive presentation offers a powerful look at the risks, choices, and sacrifices made by those living in the Carolina backcountry during wartime.
