Planting Hope: Supporting the Children’s Attention Home This Child Abuse Prevention Month

Every child deserves a safe, happy, and healthy childhood, but sadly, too many face abuse and neglect in silence. That’s why April - National Child Abuse Prevention Month - is such an important time for us all to come together and make a difference. It's a month to raise awareness, spread kindness, and take action to protect the kids who need us most!

One incredible organization making a huge impact in our community is the  Children’s Attention Home in nearby Rock Hill, SC. Since 1970, this organization has provided a safe and nurturing space for children and teens who’ve experienced abuse, neglect, and homelessness. But it’s not just about offering shelter - it’s about offering hope. With trauma-informed care, education, and life skills training, the Home helps kids heal, grow, and build brighter futures.

This April, you can show your support by joining their Pinwheel Campaign, a nationwide symbol of the happy, carefree childhood every kid deserves. By planting a bouquet of pinwheels in your yard, office, or community, you’re helping spread the message that every child deserves to grow up safe, loved, and supported.

It’s easy to get involved! Just email development@attentionhome.org to request your bouquet. A suggested donation of $25 helps fund the important work of the Children’s Attention Home.

The Children’s Attention Home makes a life-changing impact, from helping teens graduate to giving kids their first birthday party. With your support, we can help them make an even bigger difference! Financial contributions are vital to their work. Whether you make a one-time donation, become a monthly donor, or support their online wishlists, your generosity directly helps provide care, resources, and stability for children in need. In fact, half of their budget comes from private community support, allowing them to reach more children and offer essential training and services.

We also encourage you to attend the Spring Open House at the Children’s Attention Home on May 9th, 2025. Whether you’ve visited before or this is your first time, it's a great opportunity to see firsthand how your support makes a difference. You’ll have the chance to:
