A meaningful community event focused on student well-being is coming to York County this week—and everyone is invited to take part.
The York County Middle & High School Digital Safety Walk-A-Thon, themed “Step Into Tomorrow,” will take place on Friday, May 8 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at South Pointe High School Stadium in Rock Hill.
Designed to bring awareness to youth digital safety and mental health, the event encourages students, parents, educators, and community members to come together for an evening of connection, conversation, and purpose.
As technology continues to play a major role in students’ daily lives, conversations around online safety, screen time, and mental health have never been more important. This walk-a-thon aims to create a supportive space to highlight those topics while empowering families with resources and community support.
The event is held in partnership with LessThan3SC.org, an organization dedicated to promoting digital responsibility and mental wellness among young people.
Participants can pre-register ahead of time or simply sign up at check-in. Whether you’re walking alongside your child, showing support as an educator, or just looking for a way to get involved locally, this event offers a simple but impactful way to make a difference.
By taking a few steps together, the community can help spark important conversations and support a healthier, safer future for York County students.
