York County goes all out for Independence Day — and this year is extra special since America is celebrating its 250th birthday. From fireworks displays and community parades, there's something for everyone to enjoy! Here's where to celebrate:


Friday July 3, 6:00-9:30PM | Fort Mill Amphitheater & Walter Elisha Park

Get excited! Fort Mill is pulling out all the stops for America's 250th — and this lineup is stacked. Head to the amphitheater at Walter Elisha Park on Friday evening, July 3rd for a full night of live entertainment, living history, and one of the best fireworks shows.

Saturday, July 4, 10AM | Main Street Fort Mill

The most Fort Mill thing you can do on the 4th! Join the Town of Fort Mill for its 52nd annual Firing of the Cannons on Thursday, July 4, at 10 AM on Main Street. This patriotic tradition includes a special ceremony including musket firing, patriotic music, the reading of The Declaration of Independence, followed by the historic cannon firing led by the Short Family, marking their 51st year of participation.


Baxter Village 23rd Annual July 4th Parade

Saturday July 4, 9:30AM | Market Street Baxter Village

One of the biggest July 4th parades in the entire Charlotte region — and it's right here in Fort Mill. The Baxter Village parade has grown into a legitimate spectacle over 22 years, with 150+ parade units rolling down Market Street. Think bands, floats, Shriner's performance units, clowns, classic cars, sports mascots, street entertainers, and decorated entries of every kind.


The best part? Anyone can participate — no registration necessary. Decorate your car, golf cart, bike, scooter, or float and show up. To watch, line the route along Market Street from Killington's heading seven blocks south to Sutton Road. Get there early for a good spot — this one draws a crowd.


Thursday July 2 - Saturday July 4 | Windjammer Park, Runde Park, and Tega Cay Golf Course

Tega Cay goes hardest of anyone in the county. As the nation marks its 250th birthday and Tega Cay celebrates 44 years since incorporation, the city is rolling out three full days of patriotic festivities — thrills on the water, music under the Carolina sky, a grand parade, and a fireworks finale. Highlights include:

  • Thursday, July 2 — The Flotilla Parade sets sail at 6:00 PM from Niven's Creek, with a procession of decorated boats arriving at Windjammer Park by 6:45 PM, followed immediately by the Carolina Show Ski Team performing high-energy water ski acts.

  • Friday, July 3 — EnjoyUncle Sam Jam in Runde Park. On July 3rd, Runde Park transforms into a summer concert destination. Bring chairs or blankets and dance in the grass to country music by the "Laura Vinson Band." Local food trucks will be on site, and cold beer will be available for purchase.

  • Saturday, July 4 — Tega Cay's "250 Years of Hometown Heroes" Land Parade steps off at 9:00 AM from Tega Cay Elementary School, traveling down Tega Cay Drive. The Tega Cay Lion's Club Fish Fry follows from 4:30–7:30 PM, and the "Boom in the Cay" fireworks extravaganza kicks off at 9:00 PM near the Glennon Center.


Friday, July 3 and Saturday July 5, 9:30PM | 14523 Carowinds Blvd

All-American thrills are waiting for you at Carowinds as folks come to together to celebrate Star-Spangled Nights presented by M&M’S®, one of the most breathtaking 4th of July event in the Carolinas in 2025! The night’s sky will be painted with bright and colorful lights while explosive sounds erupt in combination with patriotic music, creating an unforgettable show for all ages.


Saturday, July 4, 4:00-9:00PM | Old Town Rock Hill

Celebrate Independence Day in Old Town Rock Hill from 4–9 PM with free activities including face painting, food trucks, and water play on Hampton Street. Cool off with slides, foam, and water games, and cap off the night with a fireworks show at 9 PM. Main Street and surrounding roads will be closed, so plan your parking in designated downtown areas.


Saturday, July 4, 9:30PM | Buster Boyd Bridge

Celebrate Independence Day by the water at Lake Wylie's Buster Boyd Bridge. Festivities begin at dusk with the fireworks show lighting up the sky around 9:30 PM — food, family fun, and entertainment throughout the evening in one of the area's most scenic spots. Some of the best viewing areas include: The Buster Boyd Bridge boat landing, Papa Doc’s Shore Club on outside deck, Rey Azteca deck at Lake Wylie Plaza, Lake Wylie Italian and Pizza on patio, Bagel Boat, Long Cove Resort, or watch by boat near Buster Boyd Bridge.


Saturday, July 4, 6:30-10:00PM | York Middle School

Join the City of York at York Middle School (1010 Devinney Rd) from 6:30–10:00 PM for live music by Brian Ashley Jones, food trucks, •kids' activities and inflatable, sand a fireworks show to end the night.
