Viking's Axe: Fort Mill's indoor axe throwing facility soon to celebrate one year

We recently visited Viking's Axe for an active date night and had a blast slinging axes and local beers. There's something bizarre about playing a game with lethal weapons, so we were thankful for the Viking's Axe coach dedicated to our lane that helped perfect our throw and keep score.

The facility located off Hwy 160 across from Baxter and behind Lowe's is open and spacious. We felt safe in our own "lane," and as far as COVID precautions go, staff members wore masks, hand sanitizer was provided throughout the facility, and equipment was wiped down between each party.

It's $20 an hour per person so it makes for a great date night and is perfect for birthdays or team events. They make it easy and allow you to bring your own food or will arrange catering for you! With picnic tables and a multifunction room, you can spread out however you’d like.

We also had the pleasure of meeting local owners and operators Ernest Vergara and Annette Pabon, who are there often to help ensure a one-of-a-kind experience. Ernest, better known as "Ernie," settled down near his family in Rock Hill, SC, after 25 years of traveling in the service, then 14 years in construction management. Not quite ready for retirement, he partnered with Annette to open Viking’s Axe in Fort Mill.

Stop by, say hello, and support local! They're open Thursday-Sunday. Reservations are encouraged but not required.
