This is part of our Community series. Submit your story here.
Fostering the Family will be hosting our Fourth Annual Fight for Families 5k Trail Run/Walk. This race will be held at the brand new Allison Creek Park. This event will bring awareness to the local foster and adoption crisis. While this race is a true 5k, it will also have some elements that offer an interactive insight into the life of a child traveling through the child welfare system. In celebration of fall, we will also be including a costume contest for the children and families. Medals will be awarded to race winners per age category. Join us as we experience the reality of foster care and come together as a community to bring about change!
We will offer a 5K race for all ages beginning at 9 am, which will be timed by both, male and female divisions, per age category. We are asking that all participants be at the race by 8 am. There will be interactive stations leading up to the Start line, two water stations during the race, followed by the Awards Ceremony. Please be aware of our interactive stations!
Packet pick up will be from 7:45- 8:45 am on race day. We will have an Awards Ceremony at 10:30 am following the race. Each runner will receive their time via text from Queen City Timing.
Come with your favorite friends and make a Fundraising Team! The winners will have a weekend of fame on a Charlotte billboard! if your business or church is interested in sponsorship and vendor tables we encourage participation.
