The Vital Role of the Fort Mill Care Center

The Fort Mill Care Center, an all-volunteer nonprofit organization, plays a crucial role in supporting our community by providing emergency assistance to those in need within the Fort Mill School District boundaries. At the heart of the Care Center’s mission is its food pantry, which collects a diverse range of items including non-perishable foods, personal hygiene products, and household cleaning supplies. They also accept fresh items such as frozen chicken, butter, farm fresh produce, eggs, and cheese, along with incontinence products and laundry detergent. These donations are vital for the Care Center's ability to support those in need, with approximately 70% of the food generously donated by the community and the remaining 30% procured through monetary contributions.

Beyond its food pantry, the Care Center offers help with utility bills, life-sustaining prescriptions, and emergency dental services, ensuring comprehensive support for residents facing challenging times.

Excitingly, the Care Center is preparing to unveil its new education center, which will offer classes in financial literacy, ESL, and cooking, aiming to enhance the lives of community members by equipping them with valuable skills and knowledge.

Currently, the Care Center's most urgent need is food for their pantry, with shelves running low. Hosting a food drive in your neighborhood, church, or business can make a significant impact!

Donations of both perishable and non-perishable items are welcome and can be dropped off at the Care Center's warehouse during open hours or at designated drop-off locations. Financial donations can be made via PayPal or mailed to their PO Box. By supporting the Fort Mill Care Center, you help ensure that essential services continue to be available to those in need in our community.
