What's brewing with Fort Mill's Humble Cup Coffee Co.

Updated: Oct 13, 2021

We recently caught up with Ashley and Nick Conforti, owners of Humble Cup Coffee Co., at the Fort Mill Farmers Market where it all began in 2019, with a just a table and chair. Now, you'll find them there with a beautiful trailer serving everything from coffees and lattes, to teas and cold brews (now on tap at Good Life Organic Kitchen).

Why Coffee?

Nick and Ashley enjoyed their first date over a cup of coffee in 2008. Dating consisted of buzzing around to local coffee shops, and they soon realized the need for more in Fort Mill.

At the same time, Nick found himself homesick for Chicago and turned to roasting coffee beans in his garage to cope with his feelings. A hobby that quickly brewed into a passion is a now a business that connects friends and family through conversation and also gives back to the community - they donate $1 of each bag to local charities and donate coffee to local events. It's "nothing more. nothing less." It's a humble cup of coffee.

Community Connection

"I want our brand to be community-first and a place for anyone to feel welcomed," said Nick. "Just knowing the our coffee might bring people together in conversation and community is why we continue." Since their start at the Farmer's Market in 2019, not only have they grown exponentially, but they've seen other small businesses grow alongside them. That in itself is one of the things that makes the Fort Mill business community so special.

About the Coffee

Humble Cup Coffee Co. partners with a local coffee roastery, Haerfest Coffee, a family-owned coffee company that employs individuals with intellectual disabilities. The coffee is roasted each Monday to provide the freshest coffee possible. They offer four unique blends plus a holiday blend, each created with a unique name: acceptance, compassion, gratitude, and desire, with tasting notes resembling each name. This fall, check out their hidden favorite Cinnamon Honey Latte, made with real local honey. You can't go wrong with everyone's favorite Pumpkin Spice Latte made with real pumpkin to give it an extra creamy texture. Looking for more of a dessert drink? Check out the S’mores latte made with real chocolate sauce and toasted marshmallow syrup!

Where to Find Them

Once the Town of Fort Mill Farmer's Market ends at the end of October, you'll be able to find them at local events around town! Follow them on social media to stay updated on their whereabouts. On weekends beginning in January, they will set up behind Crossings on Main as a more "permanent location." You may even catch their 3-year-old son Emerson passing out cups - he's a little barista in the making! The Conforti family hopes to one day be serving you from an actual brick-and-mortar shop, but until then, they will continue utilizing their mobility.

Request them for your local event! They would love to be at your next festival, party, wedding, neighborhood event - you name it.
